PPS Company History

Founded in 1945, originally as Plysu Protection Systems, and utilising specially developed and unique welding technology, PPS started manufacturing early light weight protective garments, such as PVC rainwear and cycling capes, and has played an important roll in the history of plastics.

By the late fifties the new nuclear power industry had created the need for Personal Protective Equipment of an unprecedented standard. New materials, combined with our special welding technology, rapidly made the company UK leader in air fed nuclear suit production, bringing in its wake orders for suits for use in a variety of other hazardous environments.

PPS have continued to develop products throughout its 62 year history for many Blue Chip clients, including PPE and Decontamination products for the Governments Anti-terrorism programme.

January 2010 has seen the purchase of PPS by Versar Inc. of the USA to expand investments into Europe & the USA
