PPE STILL IN DEMAND FROM PPS......

Strong sales continue even in the current push for increased automisation. Whilst plant automation is the preferred route, our range of PPE is well suited to manual tasks, even in automated plants, where it is necessary to carry out maintenance and sampling.

Favourable year-end sales have met targets at PPS and still appear to have more to grow. Our sales come from long-standing customers and also from ever growing new business. This new business is a result of a greater health and safety awareness and also improved knowledge of PPE requirements and legislation from employers. Expectation from end-users is also increasing.

• NEW PRODUCTS
We are continually striving to improve and upgrade our range of PPE and, at the time of going to press, new suit and breathing apparatus developments are undergoing stringent testing.

New PVC Oversuit New PVC Oversuit
This is made up of an overhood and then a oversuit. The two piece oversuit fits neatly over existing front entry full suits, and is fastened around the hood, wrists and ankles and a Velcro seam up the back for easy removal.

The calling for this came from users wanting to stop cross contamination and lengthen the life of the full suit.

The oversuit has been supplied to a number of EU countries and is proving to be a solution long overdue as the demand shows.

Redundant System PRODUCT UPDATE
We have come to the end of an era of the air belt that has only an emergency whistle on the belt and no regulator.

The old belt in question, seen here on the left on a yellow suit, is now redundant.

We have changed the air silencer. This helps us to meet the prescribed level in the suit while also giving added protection. The old belt has not been manufactured for over four years so, considering the expected shelf life of the belt, any still in use should certainly be replaced by the new system.
The latest version, pictured right, has many advantages over the old, such as more robust whistle which is also shielded.

The pressure regulator is a new feature and is factory set. It now has a locking screw to prevent the pressure from being adjusted. The air silencer has the same threaded body but has no brass insert fitted into the silencer as did the previous version.

A good understanding of suit serviceability is key to effective PPE protection; air silencers and diaphragms are no exception.
Latest System
Inline Filter System They are in view a lot of the time so monitoring is simple; they are also easily replaced. This is not the case for the in-line filter that is sited in the tail of the suit
and more difficult to locate so greater vigilance is required to ensure effective filtration and a good flow of air. We advise that you check it NOW and replace it regularly.
