PPS Appoint Administrator For It’s Global Markets
A new sales administration post has been created by Professional Protection Systems, one of the world’s leading suppliers of decontamination technologies and protective clothing, principally to manage the company’s rapidly growing markets in some 30 countries. According to the MD of Milton Keynes based PPS, Mark Whitcher, over 50% of the company’s sales are now export led and it had become necessary to appoint an executive to give focus to a sector of the company’s activities that have, as he puts it, “grown like Topsy”.

60 Years of Success
On Nov 2 this year Professional Protection Systems will be 60 years old. Acknowledged as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of decontamination technology and top end specialist PPE the company, that commenced production in 1947, was a post-war baby utilising what was at that time revolutionary material and technology developed to help fight world war two. PPS History
Today one of the world’s leading designers and suppliers of front-line decontamination technologies, Professional Protection Systems, began life in 1945 as a company created for the peacetime exploitation of unique PVC welding technology developed as part of the war effort. The first products were light weight protective garments such as fold-away PVC rainwear and items like cycling capes.
Towards the end of the 1950’s the company underwent the first of several dramatic transformations that were to move it towards its present position of world-class player, when it won the contract to provide the UK’s new nuclear power industry with protective suits made to, what were then, unprecedented standards.
